Environmental Options from Integrys Energy Services

Integrys Energy Services recognizes that many customers are taking steps to reduce their environmental footprint, and believes that with a strong partner they can do this in a way that enhances their competitiveness and position in the marketplace. We develop, acquire, own and operate clean, renewable, and efficient energy sources throughout the United States and Canada. In our development efforts, we work closely with large commercial, industrial and utility customers to design and select an energy solution that is economically optimal. Our approach also includes collaborating with energy developers of wholesale energy projects in order to help them successfully overcome the challenges associated with integrating the technical, regulatory, and financial aspects of their projects.

The energy market is increasingly demanding environmentally friendly products and services. According to the United States Department of Energy – Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, there are 25 states plus the District of Columbia that currently have Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) policies in place. An RPS is a state policy that requires electricity providers to obtain a minimum percentage of their power from renewable energy resources by a certain date. Three other states – Missouri, Virginia, and Vermont – have nonbinding goals for adoption of renewal energy instead of an RPS.
